Summary:

Sonja Gievska was born in 1963 in Skope. She received her bachelor degree in computer science from the University of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Skopje, Macedonia in 1986. She holds master degree in Computer Science from the University of Zagreb, Croatia since 1993. She received her D.Sc. degree in computer science from the George Washington University , Washington, DC, USA. She worked at the Computer Science Department, University of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, Skopje, Macedonia from 1990-2011. She was appointed an assistant professor in 2005. At present, she is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, University "Ss. Cyril and Methodius", Skopje, Macedonia. She spent the last 15 years at the Computer Science Department, the George Washington University, first as a doctoral student (1997-2003) and later as a Visiting Scholar (2005-2009). During that period, she thought courses at undergraduate and graduate level, and participated in several research projects financed by US government agencies. Her research interests are in the area of intelligent agent-based user interfaces, smart spaces and context awareness and educational interactive multimedia systems. She is an author of more than fifty scientific papers published in international journals and proceedings of international conferences and workshops.
