Content-Based Search and Retrieval (4+1)

1. General information

The value of the IT market in Macedonia in 2006 was 85.4 million dollars. It is 1.4% of the gross domestic product (GDP). The expected value of the market in 2010 is 200 million dollars which will result in GDP growth of 3%. In Macedonia, operate more than 400 IT companies and IT employments are more than twice the national average, according to the research from MASIT.

The students who will graduate on this program will gain exceptional theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the areas of databases, information systems and computer intelligence. They will be able to:
  • analyze the problems of indexing and retrieval that occur in the areas of databases and information systems
  • evaluate the different capabilities of the technologies for content-based search
  • research to develop new technologies
